Stebar Safaris founder, Stella Bamurekye started the Rukoma Cultural Village in 2014.
Since then, Rukoma Cultural Village has empowered women through agriculture in Masha village, Mbarara. Our target is to encourage women to run successful businesses in agriculture. These woman have empowered themselves with financial and social skills that see them get out of the cycle of poverty in a deeply impoverished village. Plus, addressing their social and emotional well-being.
Using the food they grow, these women are able to feed their children. They also use the income obtained from selling their crop to rebuild their mud houses.
Rukoma has empowered women through Agriculture, with a target of running successful businesses in Agriculture, as well as learning social skills that will see them get out of the cycle of poverty in a deeply impoverished village.
